OUR INSTRUMENTS
Tamil Heritage and Archaic Musical Instruments
Vocal music and instrumental music can be divided into two from the perspective of how music is created. Our forefathers made and used various musical instruments to evoke the sweetness of music in the form of art and romantic emotions. There are four types of Tamil musical instruments, skin instruments, wind instruments, stringed instruments and kanjakarui. Leather tools are made of animal hides. Wind instruments are played using air. Nerves consist of fine nerves or filaments. The instruments are played against each other.
